Animatic story rough

Animatic Story Draft

The story that I plan on using for my animatic is one that I was originally going to use in 2019 for my comic work in drawing 2 however changed my mind at the last minute.

For the comic I was going to open with a small fight scene between the protagonist Eva and her teacher showcasing the dynamic and personality of the two characters showcasing Eva as lazy and arrogant, her teacher as controlled and serious. Because I did not end up using this idea for a previous class I would like to continue with this project in my other classes including storyboarding, animating this scene in particular.

Below are some designs I done in 2019 of the main character that I would need to translate into into a more simplistic design to suit animation.

Story

Eva is getting ready for training by lying around lazily much to the dismay of her teacher who demands that she get into a fighting stance, cockily Eva thinks she doesn't need more training and is ready to go out to the field without supervision and today she's going to prove that to her master Eva fights with brute strength aggressively relying strictly on her weapon rather than herself, she is quickly defeated by her master who berates her for not taking things seriously, if Eva was out on her own she would surely be killed.

The 3 acts of the story

Act 1 - Eva acts cocky and arrogant believing her skill in combat is equal to her masters

Act 2 - Eva and her master begin training.

Act 3 - Eva is defeated by her master, and is berated for her poor attitude. She starts to take things a little seriously.

Main protagonist

Eva is the main protagonist

What is the ‘conflict’ that the protagonist must overcome?

Eva must learn to take things more seriously as within the world she lives in there is a constant war between humans and demons, one slip up could mean life or death for herself and others shes tasked with protecting.

How do they change/what is the character’s arc?

Eva starts to take her training more seriously realizing that not all situations should be a laughing matter.
